The T.E.D. Thigh Length Anti–Embolism Surgical Compression Stockings are clinically designed to reduce the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) in hospitalised patients. These open-toe stockings apply a graduated pressure pattern that promotes healthy blood flow through the deep veins of the legs, making them a reliable choice for pre-, intra- and post-operative care.
Each stocking features a seamless band at the thigh, a two-ply gusset for improved comfort and circulation, and a pressure-relieving popliteal zone that helps reduce constriction behind the knee. The defined heel pocket and inlay circumferential knit support proper placement and consistent compression, ensuring the stocking performs as intended throughout use.
Manufactured by Cardinal Health, these stockings are free from latex, DEHP and PVC, and are compliant with ISO 10993-1 and CE marked for safety and biocompatibility. They are available in a wide range of sizes to fit thigh circumferences up to 91.4 cm.
Key Features & Benefits
- Graduated compression: 18 mmHg at the ankle, decreasing to 8 mmHg at the upper thigh, to help maintain blood flow and reduce venous distension.
- Thigh-specific design: Two-ply gusset and seamless interrupted band enhance comfort and circulation at the femoral vein.
- Pressure relief zone: Stitch change at the popliteal area prevents restriction and encourages smooth blood flow behind the knee.
- Open toe design: Facilitates skin inspection and pedal pulse checks without removing the stocking.
- Soft, durable fabric: Made primarily of nylon with polyester and Roica for optimal elasticity and fit.
- Biocompatible and latex-free: Suitable for sensitive skin and compliant with safety standards.
- Reusable: Can be washed up to 10 times (20 days with alternate day washing) while maintaining efficacy.
- Wide size range: Fits thigh circumferences up to 91.4 cm—refer to sizing chart for accurate fitting.
