Swann Morton Sterile Disposable Scalpel No. 12 | Box of 10

The Swann Morton Sterile Disposable Scalpel with No. 12 blade features a small, pointed, crescent shaped blade sharpened along the inside edge of the curve. This blade is often utilised as a suture cutter but is also suitable for the following procedures:

• Arteriotomies (surgical incision of an artery),
• Parotid surgeries (facial salivary glands)
• Mucosal cuts on a septoplasty (repair of nasal septum)
• During cleft palate procedures
• Ureterolithotomies (calculus removal by incision of the ureter)
• Pyelolithotomies (surgical incision of the renal pelvis of a kidney for the removal of a kidney stone - also known as a pelviolithotomy ).
• Dental surgery for raising skin flaps and for removing excess polymerised composite resin on the facial and interproximal region of the tooth during restoration procedures

These single-use scalpels are supplied as a complete unit with blade and handle pre-assembled, each individually wrapped to maintain sterility.

By using a disposable scalpel, you limit the risk of accidental injury during removal and fitting of replacement blades. As these scalpels are designed for one time use only, the sterility of a newly opened scalpel is guaranteed, unlike in the case of re-usable handles.
