The T.E.D.™ Thigh Length Anti-Embolism Surgical Compression Stockings with Belt are designed to support the prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in hospitalised and surgical patients. This belt style provides thigh length graduated compression with added waist support to help keep the stocking correctly positioned during clinical use.

Manufactured by Cardinal Health, these open toe anti-embolism stockings apply a clinically proven pressure pattern from the ankle to the upper thigh. They are suitable for pre-operative, peri-operative and post-operative care where compression therapy has been prescribed or clinically advised.

Key features and benefits

  • Graduated compression profile: Applies 18mmHg at the ankle, 14mmHg at the calf, 8mmHg at the popliteal, 10mmHg at the lower thigh and 8mmHg at the upper thigh to help promote venous blood flow.
  • Thigh length with belt design: Helps maintain correct placement, with side panels positioned at the hip bone and the upper hem sitting at the gluteal furrow.
  • Designed for DVT prevention: Supports blood flow in the lower limbs during periods of inactivity, surgery or hospitalisation.
  • Open toe construction: Allows easier skin inspection and pedal pulse checks without removing the stocking.
  • Pressure relief at the popliteal region: Helps reduce restriction behind the knee and supports patient comfort.
  • Two-ply gusset: Supports fit and comfort around the thigh area while helping avoid a tourniquet effect.
  • Latex-free: Suitable for use where natural rubber latex avoidance is required.
  • Non-sterile: Supplied for clinical compression use where sterile presentation is not required.
  • Multiple size options: Available in small, medium, large and extra large belt style options. Correct patient measurement is essential before fitting.

Always ensure correct sizing is applied as per manufacturer guidance for optimum clinical outcomes.
