Powder Free Disposable Medical Gloves
Powder free gloves are commonly used in food handling, manufacturing and medical environments. They reduce the risk of contamination and allergic reactions, which can occur with powdered alternatives. All of our gloves have a snug, comfortable fit and are manufactured to the highest standards. Providing excellent durability and dexterity, our gloves are suitable for a variety of precision tasks.
What does it mean when gloves are powder free?
Gloves are ‘powder free’ when they contain no powder and have gone through a process of chlorination. They get treated with chlorine, rinsed with water, then dried to remove any powder residue. As a result, powder isn’t required to take them on and off.
What is the difference between powdered and powder free gloves?
Powdered gloves contain cornstarch, whereas powder free gloves don’t contain cornstarch. The powder offers a better grip and prevents sweat from building up. However, powder free alternatives prevent allergic reactions and are kinder on your skin.
Are powder free gloves safe?
Powder is removed from the glove to avoid the risk of cross contamination and the risk of allergic reactions. If powder free gloves conform to BS EN 455 part 3 then they have been tested and conform to standard. Here at Premier Healthcare, we ensure our range of medical gloves conform to BS EN 455 Parts 1, 2, 3 & 4 wherever possible.
